The Iconic BR Class 90
The BR Class 90, one of the most versatile and iconic electric locomotives of the British Rail era, has officially arrived in Train Sim World. Developed by Alan Thomson Simulation, this Add-on brings a new level of freight operations to the West Coast Main Line (WCML).
Locomotive Performance & History
Originally designed as the Class 87/2, the Class 90 was built to modernize the UK's electric fleet. Known for its mixed-traffic capabilities, it is just as comfortable hauling heavy containers at 75 mph as it is reaching speeds of 110 mph on passenger services.
The model features its signature thyristor control and solid-state traction, providing a smooth and powerful driving experience.
Key In-Game Features
- Authentic Liveries: The pack includes five distinct liveries: DB Cargo (Red and Blue) and Freightliner (Grey, Powerhaul, and the classic Green), each featuring unique locomotive numbering.
-
Advanced Driving Systems:
- Speed Set: A fully functional speed control system that helps drivers maintain a constant velocity.
- Safety Systems: Highly detailed modeling of TPWS, AWS, and DSD, including realistic "Neutral Section" functionality.
- Multiple Working: Players can pair several Class 90s together for heavy-haul freight operations.
- Realistic Cabin & Interaction: The cab features high-quality artwork by IMBUE, including interactive gauges and an operational GSMR radio. For the first time, train faults (such as pantograph or wiper failures) are integrated for those seeking an extra challenge.
