TopTrains Editor Review
"This route mixes good things and bad things, and hopefully the negative aspects will be sorted out with upcoming patches."
"After running through it multiple times already, I can tell you that this is a high traffic route where you will be cutting across many major railway lines around London. The downside is that the trains you encounter feature unlicensed liveries, making them look a bit strange."
"The major novelty introduced on this route is the inclusion of functional cab screens. Every time we stop at a station, we can view different camera angles of the doors and watch passengers boarding and alighting in real time. It is a route with plenty of stops, some very close together and others spaced out a bit more. It is a lengthy route that takes about an hour to complete, though that duration comes from the sheer density of speed changes and frequent stops rather than raw distance. Precisely because of this, it is quite demanding. The constant speed adjustments mean that a moment of distraction can easily lead to a broken speed limit."
"If there is one thing I have to highlight above all else, it is the exquisite suspension. You can really feel that these are older, well worn tracks. The train bounces, you feel the screech and scrape of the wheels against the rails, and on certain sections you hear that continuous rhythmic clack-clack of the track joints. The sound department still needs some work because, in certain sections, audio layers collide with one another and you can perceive noticeable cuts. Even the passenger announcements inside the train and across the stations occasionally cut out abruptly."
"To top it all off, you have to perform a voltage change at one of the terminal stations, which adds an extra layer of operational challenge to the run. Personally, I give it a score of 4.1 out of 5. That rating could definitely climb higher if they manage to iron out these sound bugs and fix a lighting flash issue inside one of the tunnels."
